Load up the van…it’s hockey season once again! Gone are the carefree days of summer, it’s time to get back on the ice. If you are a hockey parent then you know your schedule is about to get a whole lot busier.

Between the early morning practices and the evening games, it’s important to make sure that your future hockey star is in tip-top shape for all that extra activity. Making sure your child is well fuelled before they hit the ice is important as well as making sure they drink enough of the right fluids to stay hydrated before, during, and after the game. After any rigorous activity, it’s important to make sure that your child’s nutrients are being replenished. It is for that very reason that I have created a kid friendly, post hockey smoothie that will help replenish your child’s electrolytes plus serve up a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals for optimum recovery!

So skip the sugary sports drinks and make my Power Play Smoothie your go-to drink. It’s super easy and the kids will love it!

Power Play Smoothie

2 cups coconut water
¼ cup hemp seeds
2 dates, pitted
½ banana
¼ cup frozen fruit of choice

Place all your ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth. It’s that easy – Oh Yeah!
