Get Outside & Play!

It’s easy to feel over-whelmed  with all the things that need to be done in a day. Unfortunately this usually means healthy eating and exercise take a back burner to everything else. The reality is that proper nutrition and a good dose of exercise are crucial for abundant health.

Rock climbing and mountain biking are my favourite ways to sweat; it’s important to make sure you are participating in activities you really enjoy. Did you know that just simply walking is a great way to get exercise daily?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention the average adult needs at least 150 minutes of aerobic activity every week. This might sound like a lot to some, but if you were to take a brisk walk for 30 minutes, 5 days a week, you would reach 150 minutes with ease. You can come up with all the excuses you want but I promise if you set aside this minimal amount of time for yourself, you will feel happier and healthier.

Get an exercise buddy!

If you and a friend commit to walking three times a week, you will be more likely to make the time to exercise. Exercise doesn’t have to be strenuous; this is about getting off the couch, away from the computer and getting your body moving!

Exercise, in combination with my 80/20 rule of eating whole foods and will set you up to lose those few extra pounds, attain more energy and relieve some stress.

Call your friend, make a plan with your partner or start a walking group in your neighbourhood; a brisk walk will do you wonders, I promise.

GET OUTSIDE & PLAY! OH YEAH!

Exercise and proper nutrition go hand in hand. Find out why you should never skip breakfast!
